1. Introduction
The GSG WAN LITE is a simple, out-of-the-box home wireless access point. You can plug your ISP cable into port 1 and immediately start using Wi-Fi without any additional configuration.

3. Hardware Overview
The hAP combines wired and wireless connectivity in a compact desktop design. Key features include:
- Dual-band wireless (2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n) with two onboard antennas
- Five Ethernet ports supporting Auto MDI/X
- USB Type-A port for storage or 3G/4G modem
- Reset/Mode button for recovery and custom scripts
- Passive PoE output on Ether5
4. Quick Setup
- Connect your internet cable (Ethernet) to port 1.
- Set your computer’s IP to automatic (DHCP).
- Join the wireless network named “MikroTik…” (no password by default).
- Open http://192.168.88.1 in your browser; login as user admin (no password).
- Click Check for updates to install the latest RouterOS version.
5. Configuration via QuickSet
QuickSet provides a unified interface for basic setup:
- Choose Home AP or Router mode
- Select your country to enforce regulatory limits
- Set a new SSID and Wi-Fi password (minimum eight characters)
- Create a RouterOS login password
6. Wireless Network Settings
After initial QuickSet:
- Navigate to Wireless → Interfaces to fine-tune channels and power
- Enable Guest or VLAN SSIDs if needed
- Use Wireless Sniffer and Frequency Usage tools to avoid interference
7. Power Options
The hAP accepts power via:
- DC jack (10–28 V input)
- Passive PoE on Ether1 (10–28 V DC)
Maximum power consumption can reach 5 W under full load.
8. Mounting Instructions
This unit is designed for desktop placement. If wall-mounting is desired:
- Attach the optional mounting base (sold separately) to a flat surface.
- Align the hAP’s slots with the base tabs and press until it clicks.
- Ensure good ventilation around the unit.
9. Interfaces & Ports
Back-panel overview:
- SAT: (not used)
- LAN 1–5: Ethernet ports (Auto MDI/X, PoE-in on LAN1, PoE-out on LAN5)
- USB A: For external storage or 3G/4G modem
- PWR: DC input jack (10–28 V)
- RESET/MODE: Recovery and custom script button
10. Buttons & Jumpers
Reset/Mode button functions:
- Reset RouterOS: Hold during boot until LED flashes (5 s).
- CAP mode: Continue holding until LED solid (10 s).
- Netinstall: Hold until LED off (15 s).
11. LED Indicators
- PWR (green): Power on
- LAN 1–5 (yellow): Link/activity on ports
- WLAN (blue): Wireless on/off
- USB (orange): USB device detected

13. Troubleshooting
- No Internet: Verify ISP cable in LAN1, check DHCP lease.
- Wireless not visible: Confirm Wireless enabled in QuickSet.
- USB modem issues: Ensure proper drivers loaded under System → RouterBOARD.
- PoE problems: Check voltage and polarity at LAN1 or DC jack.
