BGAN postpaid is a monthly subscription for Inmarsat BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) terminals. Your line stays active on a plan billed every month, with data and voice usage added to your invoice, instead of prepaid vouchers.
How much does the BGAN postpaid plan cost?
The BGAN Standard plan costs $112.00 per month and includes 10 MB. A first activation adds $125, so the first payment for a new line is $237.00. The plan has a 12-month minimum contract.
What are the BGAN postpaid usage rates?
Background IP data costs $9.16 per MB. Calls to fixed lines and mobile networks cost $1.34 per minute, calls to other BGAN, SwiftBroadband or GSPS terminals $0.69 per minute, calls to FleetBroadband $2.42 per minute and calls to voicemail $0.73 per minute. SMS cost $0.45 each.
Is there a contract?
Yes. The plan has a minimum term of 12 months, and the early termination fee is the remainder of the contract. Over 12 months, the minimum commitment is $1,344.00.
Can the monthly allowance be used for calls?
Yes. The monthly allowance can be used for all services at the standard rates. Allowance pooling across several lines (SCAP) is not available on this plan.
How do I cancel my BGAN postpaid line?
Send your request in writing to support@globalsatellite.us. Termination becomes effective 30 days after your next billing date, and charges during the notice period and any early termination fee remain due, as set out in our Airtime Service Agreement.
Postpaid or prepaid: which is better for BGAN?
Postpaid suits regular, ongoing use with one monthly bill. For occasional use, deployments or emergency kits, BGAN prepaid vouchers start at $150.00 for 50 units, with no contract.
