What are Starlink Maritime plans?
Starlink Maritime plans use Starlink Global Priority data, which works in international waters and on ocean crossings. They are designed for vessels that need reliable broadband far beyond coastal cellular coverage.
Each plan includes a monthly data allowance from 10 GB to 15 TB. When the allowance runs out, you choose to keep going at a per-GB overage rate or switch to free speed-limited data until the 1st of the month. Pair your plan with a Flat High Performance antenna for in-motion use.

First activation adds a one-time $200 activation fee to the first month. Overage applies only when you opt in to pay-per-GB data.
Overage charges apply per GB used beyond your monthly allowance, until data resets on the 1st of each month.
Once your allowance is used, you get free unlimited data at 1 Mbps down / 0.5 Mbps up for the rest of the month.

How much do Starlink Maritime plans cost?
Global Satellite offers eleven Starlink Global Priority maritime plans, from $300 per month for 10 GB to $16,987.40 per month for 15 TB. Popular sizes include 50 GB at $372, 100 GB at $492 and 1 TB at $1,400 per month. A first-time activation adds $200.
What happens when I use all my data?
You choose. If you opt in, data continues and each extra GB is billed at your plan overage rate, from $7.00 per GB on 10 GB down to $2.50 per GB on 1 TB and above. If you opt out, you get free unlimited data at 1 Mbps down and 0.5 Mbps up until the allowance resets on the 1st of the month.
Does Starlink work in the middle of the ocean?
Yes. Starlink Global Priority plans are designed for international waters and ocean crossings, including use while the vessel is underway with a Flat High Performance antenna.
Which antenna do I need for my boat?
Most vessels use the Starlink Flat High Performance antenna, which is built for in-motion use and marine conditions. Compare options in our Starlink devices comparison or ask our team.
What does first-time activation cost?
A first-time activation adds a one-time $200 fee to your first month. If your terminal was previously activated, you pay the plan price only.
Can I change my plan size?
Yes. Upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately and charges are prorated based on a 30-day month. Contact our team to change your plan or overage settings.
Is there an unlimited plan for ships?
Yes. IMO-registered cargo and tanker vessels can join our Global Priority Unlimited program, from $3,070 per month with no throttling and no overage.
