You buy a block of minutes for your Iridium prepaid SIM, valid from 30 days to 24 months depending on the plan. Calls are billed in 20-second increments, and calls to other Iridium phones cost half the standard rate.
Recharge before your plan expires to keep your number and your line active. If it lapses, you can reactivate it within 9 months for a small fee.

How long are Iridium prepaid minutes valid?
Validity depends on the plan: 30 days for 100 minutes, 6 months for 200 minutes, 12 months for 300 and 600 minutes, and 24 months for 3,000 minutes. The 300-minute plan has no rollover. Your airtime balance can be carried forward for a maximum of 3 years.
What happens if my Iridium prepaid plan expires?
You can put your line back into service with a Reactivation & recharge order. Reactivation within 9 months costs $60 on worldwide plans and $30 on regional plans; after 9 months it costs $300. To avoid these fees, recharge or extend your plan before it expires.
Can I extend my plan without buying more minutes?
Yes. Extensions keep your line active longer without adding airtime: a 1-month extension costs $72, a 3-month extension $216 and a 6-month extension $432. See all options in the extension section.
How are Iridium prepaid calls billed?
Voice calls are billed in 20-second increments. Calls to other Iridium phones are rated at 50% of the standard rate, and voicemail retrieval is charged at the full rate.

Choose a worldwide plan if you travel across several regions or at sea. If you only use your phone in Latin America, or in Africa and the Middle East, a regional plan gives you more minutes for the price.
