Overview
What is BGAN prepaid airtime?
Inmarsat BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) is a satellite broadband service for portable terminals. It gives field teams, journalists, responders and remote sites internet access and voice calls wherever there is a view of the sky, without relying on local networks.
BGAN prepaid lets you pay in advance with unit vouchers instead of a monthly plan. There is no contract and no monthly bill: load a voucher onto your BGAN SIM, use your units for data and calls, and recharge when you need more.
In short: Global Satellite sells Inmarsat BGAN prepaid vouchers from $150.00 (50 units, 90 days) to $4,500.00 (5,000 units, 365 days). First activation adds $120, and a 12-month static IP is available as an option.

How it works
How BGAN prepaid airtime works
Inmarsat BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) connects a portable terminal to Inmarsat satellites for internet access and voice calls. With prepaid, you load a voucher of units onto your BGAN SIM and spend them as you use data and calls.
Each voucher is valid from 90 days to 1 year from redemption. Recharge before your validity ends to keep your SIM and remaining balance, or add a 30-day extension.
Select a voucher size in units.

What is BGAN prepaid airtime?
BGAN prepaid is pay-in-advance airtime for Inmarsat BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) terminals. You buy a voucher of units for your BGAN SIM card, valid for a set period, and use it for satellite internet and voice calls, with no contract and no monthly bill.
How much do BGAN prepaid vouchers cost?
BGAN prepaid vouchers cost $150.00 for 50 units (90 days), $456.00 for 500 units (180 days), $925.00 for 1,000 units, $2,250.00 for 2,500 units and $4,500.00 for 5,000 units (365 days each).
How long are BGAN prepaid units valid?
Validity starts when the voucher is redeemed: 90 days for 50 units, 180 days for 500 units and 365 days for 1,000, 2,500 and 5,000 units. A 30-day extension without units costs $50.00.
What happens to my balance when I add a new voucher?
The units are added to your balance, and your balance expiry becomes the later of your current expiry or the new voucher's validity. The two periods are not added together, so it is best to recharge near the end of your current validity.
How much is activation for a new BGAN SIM?
First activation adds $120 to the voucher price. For example, 50 units with first activation costs $270.00.
What if my BGAN SIM has expired?
Choose Reactivation after expiry on any voucher. It adds $60 to the voucher price and puts your SIM back into service with the new units.
Can I get a static IP address on BGAN prepaid?
Yes. Choose Voucher + 12-month static IP on any voucher to add a fixed public IP address for 12 months, payable in advance. It adds $832.50 to the voucher price.
Can I replace my BGAN SIM and keep my balance?
Yes. The SIM replacement order type adds $100 to the voucher price and transfers your prepaid balance to the new SIM card.
Prepaid or postpaid: which is better for BGAN?
Prepaid suits occasional use, deployments and emergency kits: you pay upfront and control your spending. For regular monthly use, compare our Inmarsat BGAN postpaid plans.
