What is Iridium PTT?
Iridium PTT (Push-to-Talk) is a satellite push-to-talk service that gives your team instant group voice anywhere in a defined coverage area, over the Iridium network. Press the button and every handset in your talk group hears you at once.
It is built for teams that must stay coordinated beyond radio range and cell coverage: emergency responders, military and government units, utilities, mining, oil & gas and transportation crews.
In short: Iridium PTT is priced in two parts: a handset subscription at $124.00 per device per month (quarterly) or $78.00 per device per month (annual), plus a monthly talk-group plan from $90.00 worldwide. Activation is $60.00 per device and $60.00 per talk group.

Iridium Push-to-Talk turns a group of satellite handsets into a private radio network. Press the PTT button and your voice reaches every member of your talk group at once, with no cellular network, repeaters or radio towers.

Iridium Push-to-Talk (PTT) is a satellite push-to-talk service on the Iridium network. Teams press one button to talk instantly to everyone in their talk group, even in remote areas with no cellular coverage.
How much does Iridium PTT cost?
Iridium PTT has two parts. The handset subscription costs $124.00 per device per month on a quarterly plan ($372.00 per quarter) or $78.00 per device per month on an annual plan ($936.00 per year). Talk-group plans start at $90.00 per month worldwide, and Promo Small is free for organizations with more than 5 devices.
What is a talk group?
A talk group is the set of PTT handsets that hear each other when one user presses the PTT button. Each talk group covers a defined operating area, from 100,000 km² (Small) to 2,250,000 km² (Jumbo), and can include from 2 to 10,000 devices.
Why are Middle East talk groups priced differently?
Talk groups operating in the Middle East territory use separate Iridium plans, from $650.00 per month (Small) to $16,000.00 per month (Jumbo). Choose the Middle East tab if your team operates in that region; otherwise choose Worldwide.
Are there activation fees?
Yes. A one-time activation fee of $60.00 applies per device and $60.00 per talk group. Activation includes setting up your organization, activating each handset and configuring your talk groups and command centre.
Is there a contract?
Handset subscriptions are prepaid for the initial commitment (3 months or 12 months) and then continue month to month. Talk-group plans are month to month. An early termination fee applies if a handset subscription ends before the initial commitment; we confirm the amount on request.
Which handset do I need for Iridium PTT?
You need a PTT-capable Iridium handset such as the Iridium Extreme PTT, which works both as a satellite phone and as a push-to-talk radio.
Who manages talk groups and users?
Global Satellite sets up your organization and talk groups at activation. After that, the PTT configuration is managed by your team through the Iridium PTT command centre, with our support when you need it.
