 Reverse Geocoding

< 1 min read

Reverse Geocoding is a specialty feature that operates independently of User activity and allows the portal to translate positions and lat/lng coordinates into street addresses. The process can be incredibly helpful for users that need to be able to see, use, and even send positions or locations in multiple formats from devices that only report one of those formats.

Reverse Geocoding does not need to be enabled, but the addresses it generates can be hidden at the Asset Level in the Settings tab.

Turning off Reverse Geocoding for an Asset #

  1. Open the Assets Module
  2. Select the Asset for which you wish to disable Reverse Geocoding
  3. Expand the Asset Options in the Details Panel by clicking the cog icon
  4. Select Edit Asset
  5. Select the Settings Tab
  6. Under the Hide Information header, click the box next to Address
