The C700 enables a variety of applications including safety, bridge and crew welfare communications, Connected Ship IoT capabilities like engine monitoring and remote diagnostics, as well as situational awareness reports. Intellian C700 terminals are optimized as VSAT companion devices.

  1. Installation:
    • Selecting the Installation Site: Choose a location that avoids RF interference and meets RF hazard precautions.
    • System Components: The system typically includes an Above Deck Unit (ADU) and a Below Deck Unit (BDU). Ensure all components are present and undamaged.
    • Cabling: Use the provided coaxial cables to connect the ADU and BDU, ensuring secure and proper connections.
  2. Configuration:
    • Power Up: Connect the system to a power source (typically 10.8 – 30V DC).
    • Initial Setup: Configure the system using the built-in web interface or terminal interface. This includes setting up network parameters, user accounts, and security settings.
    • Testing: Perform initial testing to ensure the system is operational and correctly configured. Check voice lines, data connections, and overall signal quality.
  3. Operation:
    • Voice and Data Services: The Certus 700 supports three high-quality voice lines and data speeds up to 704 kbps. Utilize the terminal interface to manage calls and data sessions.
    • Maintenance: Regularly check system status, update firmware as needed, and ensure all components are functioning properly.
